Medical Data Services was founded in 1999 as Technical Direction, Inc. by Carin Slader of Simpsonville, SC. Ms. Slader had over 15 years experience in developing software applications and managing development projects before she decided to start her own company.  Driven by a desire to work more with small offices than large bureaucracies, Technical Direction started out working on desktop applications like Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and ACT!. 

Realizing that a specialist was needed in the computer hardware and networking area, Robert Wolfe was brought into the picture as a full partner and networking specialist in 2001. 

After an extensive network installation for Dr. Michael Hoffman in late 2001,  the company decided to become a Value-Added Reseller representing  MediNotes Charting Plus EMR software.  At this point, a name change was in order, and Medical Data Services emerged.

 Since that time, several new software and hardware products are represented; including X-Link software, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Acer, Dell, HP/Compaq, Linksys, Minolta, APC, and Sony.  Company revenues continue to grow at a healthy pace with service and commitment to customer satisfaction as the core values.
